Australian jazz vocalist/songwriter Kristin Berardi teams up with pianist/ composer Miro Sprague for an exciting evening of creative music.
Kristin Berardi and Miro Sprague first performed together in 2017 in Los Angeles and immediately formed a strong musical connection, leading to a memorable performance in New York City last year with the incredible trumpet player Ingrid Jensen and bassist Marty Jaffe. This year they are performing shows on both the west and east coasts and going into the studio to record Kristin's original music for an upcoming album. This duo concert will feature soulful and fearless interpretations of jazz classics along with original material by Kristin and Miro.

Doors open at 7pm, music begins at 7:30. For those without advance tickets, there will be a cover charge of $25 at the door.
Miro Sprague is a pianist, composer, and bandleader known for his dynamic and passionate performance style, inspiring creativity and artistic versatility. Working primarily in the field of jazz and improvised music, Miro has been an active performer since the early 2000's, touring the United States, Europe, Japan and the Middle East and performing at many of the world's top venues and festivals. Miro leads his own trio and quintet and frequently performs solo recitals on both the east and west coast. He has performed/recorded with many renowned artists including Wayne Shorter, Reggie Workman, Houston Person, Ingrid Jensen, Jerry Bergonzi, Greg Osby, Dominique Eade and many others. Since 2015 he has been the pianist of choice for vocalist Karrin Allyson, touring extensively with her throughout the US and overseas. Miro is a graduate of the Manhattan School of Music and the prestigious Thelonious Monk Institute of Jazz performance. A native of Western Massachusetts, he is currently based in Los Angeles.
Kristin Berardi is one of Australia's foremost jazz singers, admired for her technical range, agility and accuracy, but loved by listeners and fellow musicians alike for the emotional depth and sincerity she invests in her performances.Even during her student days in Brisbane, Kristin was widely known as a talent to keep an eye on. But she made headlines in 2006 when she made the finals of the Jazz Vocals Competition at the Montreux Jazz Festival in Switzerland - and came home with the first prize! The next year saw Kristin win the prestigious Freedman Jazz Fellowship. In 2012, she won the Bell Awards for Best Jazz Vocal Album, and scored first prize in the National Jazz Awards at Wangaratta.Kristin has gone on to release a series of albums featuring both original songs and her interpretations of some timeless standards, in formats ranging from duets with guitarist James Sherlock to an album with the Jazzgroove Mothership Orchestra. She won the Bell Award for Best Jazz Vocal Album in 2010, 2012 and 2016.
